yeah - for me, the "one slip away" sometimes happens when the conflicts i normally avoid break into my life, some asshole reminding me of high school, calling me a fag cause i flipped him off for almost running me down in his fuck-you mobile, either out of negligence or malice, i dunno - twenty years of mellowing/maturing/evolving gone in a second and i'm right back to the paranoid rage, fight-or-flight panic
