i think it definitely happens on both sides, but a friend & i were having a convo the other day about how difficult it is to have someone make you just comfortable enough to expose your vulnerabilities, and then either dismisses them or straight up disappears. was ghosted recently for the second (! i'm an idiot) time by a fella, and it had me feeling very tirade-y.
the wrong kind of caring can be terrible to inflict - i've caught myself in that at times, hope at least i've learned something from it
